Santa finally made it inside and was almost dragged to his chair by some of the tamariki, who then started noisily sitting down around him and every so often a hand would reach out and touch him. Maybe checking to see if he was actually there?
We sang Santa some of our kindy songs before Deborah led the children in a few Christmas songs, but the real excitement came when santa started to call out childrens names. Some of our tamariki were brave enough to sit on his knee others to give him a high five, and some of our younger pepi happy to look from far away, but not keen on getting too close.
We then said a karakia and had a wonderful shared lunch supplied by our whanau. The chocolate was the first to go, I missed out, might be a trip to the supermarket for me today.
A HUGE thank you to all our whanau that were able to make it today and share in this time with us, Its great seeing more and more of you coming in and being a part of what is happening with your tamariki and us at kindy. The door is always open, if you are passing by and feel like reading some stories to the tamariki or having a go on the slide, come in and we will make you a cuppa. Morning tea time is usually around 10:00am and we sing waiata before having our kai, come in and listen to the stunning voices your children have.
A reminder also....... We close on Friday at 3:00pm for three weeks. We will reopen at 8:30 on 12th January.
