![]() Exploring and discovering is a big part of the day for the children in the under 2’s. On Friday Joseph discovered his own reflection in the mirror. He was fascinated with what he saw. He spent a long time in front of the mirror kissing and talking to the other ‘baby'

Nikita and Leigh haver been playing a matching game with some of the children. Tawhiri has been really enjoying the game and keeps asking for it. Today he set up the game and lead it with his friends by himself. Ka pai Tawhiri, you have developed some fantastic leadership skills. ![]() After a busy morning and a scrummy lunch of Lasagne, fruit and an ice cream cone, we had a mass foot spa. The children love this care moment in the centre and always try to get in first. Usually we only use small basins and one child at a time, but today everyone wanted to relax. I hope Danielle's hands didnt fall off, as she had a lot of feet to dry and massage. Care moments like this build whanaungatanga as the children build stronger relationships with us, as caregivers and with their peers. At times, the children take over these care moments for their friends and we often see them gently massaging each other. Unfortunately I missed out once again :( Next time I will have to race to be first in line. Ka Kite, Leigh. ![]() This morning TeAwamaurangi and Tawhiri had a conversation. Tawhiri made comment that he was "bigger" than TeAwamaurangi. "No" was her reply. So we started an experiment to work out who was the tallest and who was the shortest. The children took turns while Pere and Leigh drew around them. They then decorated themselves. Some children used paints, some crayons. As the paper people dry they are being attached to the wall. Once everyones is up we can then work out, who is infact the tallest, and who the shortest. Now to go and dig out the measuring tapes........ ka kite. |
